I still go to some of the meetings to keep peace in the family,
however I do not go from door to door, do not have a family study, and I feel free.
I just sit at the meetings off to the side in the giggle weeds as I get entertained
by the comments made during the meetings. Sometimes I almost bust out
laughing and at other times I get so pissed off as everyone nods their heads in
agreement when stupid impossible comments are made. The WTBTS no longer has
control of me. I truly think that many in attendance see the doctrinal conflicts but they keep
hoping that this has got to be the truth. The generation of Russel's time has
passed away, the generation that saw 1914 has passed away, and before you
know it, the generation that believed in the 1975 Watchtower teaching will pass
away.

I appreciated your well thought out comments. You know how to
express yourself. Maybe we believed all of the WTBTS doctrines
because we wanted to live in a fairy tale of the earth being transformed
to a beautiful park, growing young again, living forever, and seeing our
dead loved ones through the resurrection. If something is too good to
be true and it usually is.

When I think back on the last 45 years of my life as a JW, it truly is remarkable
how I as an intelligent person could have believed all of the things that the WTBTS
taught as doctrine and then for myself to teach others the same doctrine.
We could all give examples of this, however I was just sitting here drinking my coffee
when I began to wonder what has Jesus been doing since 1914? This is the year
that the WTBTS said that God enthorned his Son to rule the world. In a few short years
it will be 100 years that God put his Son on the throne and what have the benefits or
results been? 100 years is a long time. Let's see now----we still have the wicked in
the world, people still are getting old or sick and die, there are millions of people who
are starving, there are plenty of wars in the world, etc. If Jesus was put on His throne
in 1914 what has He been doing? Oh, I forgot, He is directing the preaching work and
directing the angels to find the honest hearted ones and perhaps He is helping in
holding back the winds of Armageddon until every last deserving sheeplike person
is contacted and brought into the Truth. Today when the US elects a president, there
are immediate impacts felt not only in America but all over the world. We may not
like what each president does about taxes, social programs, or involement in war,
but we see the results of his Presidency in a matter of months. After almost 100 years
of Jesus being King of the Kingdom the world is not a better place. Maybe in due
time there will be new light from the WTBTS about what is going on in heaven. They
will probably wait until the 100 year anniversery of the 1914 event.

Are more men or women pulling up their tent pins?

it appears that there are more men than women who are.
realizing the truth about "the truth" and are leaving the organization either by "the fade".

Is is just me or am I wrong? It appears that there are more men than women who are
realizing the truth about "The Truth" and are leaving the organization either by "the fade"
or just stopping. Is this because men don't have as many emotional ties to people
they know as do women? When I look around the Hall that attend there are about
3 women for every man. Why is that? I don't want to offend any of our female posters,
but do men make rational conclusions quicker than women? Do women tend to need
more details or proof then men to be convinced of something? I am just basing this
on the firsthand information with my wife and other female family members.
Please give me your opinions.

I was an elder for 10 years. There were some questions that I was asked by the flock which
I could not answer. There are other questions which I have that I know JW's have never thought
about and can not answer. Here we go:
If a husband, wife and three young children die in a car accident, who will the children live with in
paradise since according to Watchtower doctrine, the mom and dad will not be married in the
resurrection. Will the parents have joint custody of the children? One week with mom and then
one week with dad. Or will mom and dad live together in seperate bedrooms until the kids are
grown and leave the house. When this happens will mom or dad leave the house or just live
together as just good friends?
Since mean and women who are resurrected, will be like the angels and not marry, one would
assume that they will not be resurrected with sex organs that are necessary for procreation.
Why would a resurrected woman need breast if she is not going to have babies, and she will
not marry so she won't have a husband to enjoy them. If she doesn't have breast, a uterus, ovaries,
vagina, will she really be resurrected a woman or just a person? Will she really be the same
person she was before her death?
If when a person dies we know that God can resurrect that person. The person is nothing but dust
at this time. So God has to create this person. If He could create one person, could He create two
or three of the same person. Of course He can, He is God. If this is the case then which one of the
three would actually be the person that died? Is the person who is resurrected really the person who
died or just a copy of the person who died?
Why are there no pictures of the inside of the beautiful homes in the pictures in the Watchtower that
show what paradise will be like? It is because there will be no refrigerator, electric stove, diswasher,
washing machine and dryer. Will there be lights or just candles. If there is going to be electrictiy there
has got to be power plants burning coal or oil. Who is going to mine the coal or drill and refine the oil.
Will there be black smoke coming out of the top of the smoke stacks or will coal burning without smoke
in paradise. Is God going to spare the electric grid during the great tribulation? What equipment are they
going to use to do all of this work. I assume that there will have to be roads to haul the coal or oil.
Who will make the roads with what equipment? This life kind of sounds like life today. Maybe we are
in paradise and just don't realize it.
If a husband who deeply loves his wife and cherishs her and sexually desires her, loses his wife by an
accident, will he still have these feelings in the resurrection or will God have to blank them out of his brain?
Will God also have erase their tender moments so as to ease the pain. Will the person without his feelings
and memories really be the same person?
Who is going to be in charge of picking up the elephant and lion crap that will be in the front yard of all
those beautiful pictures in the pretty pictures in the Watchtower? Have you ever seen the size of a
pile of elephant crap? Maybe it won't stink in paradise. The Witnesses can just wait until it dries out
then they can use it to cook with in their stoves unless there is electricity - then see above.
There are 6.7 million JW's and 6.7 billion people in the world. This means that after the Great Tribulation
every JW man, woman, and child will have to bury 1,000 dead bodies. After a person is dead three days
the stench from decaying flesh is horrendous. The survivors are going to have to dig fast with their picks and
shovels, unless they can pump gas with out electricy to run the equipment? How many of todays JW window
washers, and pioneers operate bulldozers? The Witnesses will say that God is going to have the birds eat
the flesh of the dead, then there had better be a lot of very big and very hungary birds. Some Witnesses will
say that God will dispose of the bodies by a miracle . Then why doesn't He just do that now and avoid all of
the mess?
After 9/11 it took trained and skilled men and women many months to clean up the debris from the fallen
Twin Towers. They had heavy equipment to remove the debris and this was just two buildings. How long
will it take untrained window washers and pioneers to clean away the debris from the entire city of New York?
How about all of the big cities in the world? Do you think as the workers were clearing away the debris after
9/11 they were saying, man I am glad I am here, this is just like paradise.
I have other questiions but I had better stop.

Posters, readers, and lurkers of this site know that the Watchtower Society does not know
the meaning of "soon", "near", "very soon", "very near", "just on the horizon", "just around the
corner", etc. Well the Watchtower study Sunday added a word to the list that I have not seen used
to describe how close we are to the end. On page 15 under the topic "A New World of Justice" in paragraph 13
it talks about when Jehovah destroys this unjust system of things. Paragraph 14 asks "can
you see yousefl living under that just rulership? (God's Kingdom) Paragraph 17 talks about
Satan and his followers will soon come against Jehovah's worshipers. Paragraph 18 talks about
the attack of Satan and his hordes on Jehovah's servants. Now to the point. The end of paragraph 18
says "What amazing, thrilling events are immediately ahead of us!" Notice the word IMMEDIATELY.
The problem with the WTBTS is they don't have a dictionary. Don't they know what immediately means?
Are they trying to work up the troops into a frenzy? To illustrate. If you are sick and you call your
doctors office for an appointment and the nurse says that you can come to the office immediately
do you say OK I will be there in 10 years. Or how about "I will be there in 6 months, or I will
be there in a week. What does the nurse mean by immediately? If you have a bottle of pills
and the label says that if you take more than 10 pills at at one time that you will die immediately.
Can you take 10 pills and say well I got 10 more years before I die, or I got 6 months before I die,
or I got another week before I die. You get my point. Will someone please send to the writing
department of the WTBTS a dictionary?

On numerous occasions on this site there have been discussion of the JW's drinking "kool aid"
if the Watchtower said to do so. I often laughed at this. However if there was an announcement
"after the Service meeting in 5 weeks there is going to be a special announcement that know one
dares to miss and that this information will be given to the entire worldwide organizatiion"
If this was reinforced for the next 5 weeks the anticipation would be tremendous. I have already
experienced this type of anticipation several times. On one occasion there was a special
program on a Saturday night at an auditorium and 4 congregations were invited. This was around
1973. The place was packed and the place was abuzz. Only for one reason. Everyone thought
that there was going to be some information about when Armegeddon was going to start.
Instead there was only information about facts and details about the growth rate around the
world and how the organization has Jehovah's blessings. Everyone went home with a
trimendous emotional let know bordering on depression. Well getting back to the thought
of Kool Aid today. I can gurantee you that the Halls would be packed at the end of the 5 weeks
when the special announcement is made. If it was said "Brothers and Sisters, the FDS wants
us to know that the Great Tribulation is going to break out on Sunday December 2, 2007.
The have informed us that it is going to be a horrific thing to witness as Jehovah vents his
anger at the nations. Jehovah has told us that as an act of kindness that he wants all
of the weak and infirm and children to drink the solutiion on December 1, 2007
that we will pass out after the meeting. This solution will let them pass away so as not to experience the
pain and anguish and to be resurrected to a perfert paradise earth. Have many Witnesses
would actually go thru with this and drink the kool aid? I would guess about 40%. What do you think?
